And a big hug to you all who have sent me emails and DMs. Feel free to continue to contact me in any way you like, whenever you like, about whatever you like. You all fascinate me.
I quickly recorded this to ensure I created this video on the 1st of November (in Australia). I did this to start the VloMo rule: one vlog every day in November. In this video I chat about a tactic that under-handed people use. I think I give the impression that these people are a bit evil. Although I’m sad to say there really are people out there who are nasty to the core, some people use these tactics because of some perceived irrational threat. Indeed, I’ve found two types of motivations for attacks against me: one is based on some weird-ass thing they’re projecting onto me, and the other is that they wired to be mean. If someone hurts me by ignorance, I don’t count that as an attack. To me, an attack happens when a person knows they’re attempting to do you harm.
Vlog number 2! And I’m already a day late! *sigh*. Anyway. Today I have a quick chat about what sort of creative projects appeal to me now and how that relates to where I’m at artistically…
Here is my first personal vlog. I wasn’t going to post this one as I am soooo slow in it. It is the day after I had flown back from London, after a trip to Seattle via Australia! But, I thought I better have an explanatory video. I didn’t say it in the video, but I was inspired by my chats with Kevin Marks whilst in Seattle and with Arin Crumley whilst in London. I’m sure they won’t like being blamed for this, but both were part of my decision to do this.
This site is my personal META site. Who am I? I'm Christy Dena, a person who is known as an academic to some, a narrative & game designer to others, a strategist, a writer, a consultant, blogger, podcaster, community facilitator, cross-media evangelist, alternate reality game evangelist, teacher, lecturer, presenter, chair, mediator, friend, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, auntie, ex, colleague, "friend", follower and so on.
For many years I've been expressing myself and participating with communities on the web through a mainly professional capacity. This site is a place where I'm experimenting with sharing whatever I damn well please. Why am I doing it? I'm doing it to reveal (and therefore bring together) different sides of myself, and also because I find the process of trying to figure myself and the world out a significant experience.
It won't appeal to many, but it is just something I need to do at this time in my life. Feel free to share with me whatever you want too. :)
